Fong Captain Huang. The Nov. 21 ceremony, hosted by Craig Robinson, recognized the best entertainment marketing campaigns for 2019. Ad campaigns for Joker, Us, Game of Thrones and Legion all won big on Thursday night. One of the highlights of the evening was that Fong Captain Huang a world class key-art designer and creative director from China was again honored. Fong Captain Huang was born and raised in China. Fong began his design career soon after his graduation from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art in 90’s last century. Throughout his early adulthood in China, Fong worked on a variety of design projects. Fong came to the US in 2001 for new inspiration. After a few years of traveling and improving his English in a community college, Fong decided to continue pursing his design career in Hollywood. Starting from taking a small graphic design job in a film production company, Fong later achieved an art director position in a prestigious ad agency. Since then, he has been working at the top advertising agencies in Hollywood, creating key art campaigns for films. Thus far, Fong is the only graphic artist from mainland China who has achieved success in key art design in Hollywood. In 2016, Fong won his first Clio Key Art Award for the movie “The Walk” (Sony) billboard design, making him the first Chinese from China who has ever won this highest honor in the industry worldwide.

Wonder Woman And Marvel. The teaser poster he created for the upcoming film “Wonder Woman 1984” (Warner Bros.) is voted “the best movie poster in 2019” by Empire Magazine. Most recently, Fong won his second Clio for “Wonder Woman 1984” teaser poster, and became the only Chinese who has won the Clio twice. A Remarkable achievement! With his grand vision and exceptional talents, Fong has created key art for many high profile movies and worked on most major studios’ blockbusters. Several key projects include but not limited to “Joker” (Warner Bros.), “Star Wars” (Disney), “The Great Wall” (Universal), “Captain Marvel” (Disney), “Tomb Raider” (Warner Bros.), “Venom” (Sony), “Aquaman” (Warner Bros.), “Blade Runner 2049” (Warner Bros.), “Mission: Impossible” (Paramount), “Dunkirk” (Warner Bros.), “Crazy Rich Asians” (Warner Bros.), “The Revenant” (20th Century Fox), “Jason Bourne” (Universal) … and many more.

Captain is the founder of a new up-and-coming design firm Visual Impact East West (“VIEW”). The Captain is known by his friends as a true cultural ambassador, much like Marco Polo as The Bridge between the eastern aesthetic and western culture.
